When the assassin got no respons from his comment he looked over at the queen. He laughed gently his first instinct was to drag a finger across her cheek, across the blush she was trying to hide. Looking back at the guards he moved his lips closer to her ear. “You don’t have to hide your feelings all the time you know. It’s okay to show emotion.” He pulled back and smiled at her. It was good for people to show emotion and blush at comments like that. It showed the human side of things but there was a time and place to hide such things. This wasn’t really one of them, “Besides you look kind of cute blushing.” Quin in added looking away from her.
It wasn’t something one should say to a Queen, especially when you were a… ‘commoner’. They’re little banter had been fun, teasing but was it just Collin or had something shifted in the air around them? And did he… like it? How could he like the feeling of Aaliyah on his arm, so close when he was on a job to assassinate her. But he looked down at her had to admit she was a lovely woman. He looked her up and down starting from the top of her head, gazing in her sky blue eyes for a moment, before trailing down her clothes. Yes someone might get held up from scars but that didn’t bother Collin on bit after all he had his own.
Why… why was he thinking about her like this? Why was he thinking over taking off her clothing? He shook his head lightly and looked away from the Queen. This wasn’t right… no he shouldn’t be thinking of this. He felt her grip losing on his arm and his head swiveled back to her only to notice she was beginning to fall. Even before the guards noticed the Queen being unsteady he reached out for her, breaking the grip completely on his arm only to find them around her waist. It was all instinct as he pulled the Queen back and holding her to him. Letting a breath escape his lips he looked at her.
For a moment his mind went to assassin mode. The knife in his belt would be easy enough to get but he pushed the thought away. “Are you okay?” He words left his lips, he should have loosened his grip but he did no such thing, perhaps even tightening it slightly. His dark eyes widened at his movement processing everything before the guards made a step closer. “I think I’ve caused you enough excitement for the day. Goodbye My Lady.” He said in a whispered laying a kiss on her check before stepping back from her and disappearing into the crowd. That was too close. Way to close. Making a wide circle he came to a spot where he could watch her once more from under the shade of the tree. He had hardly noticed that his heart rate picked up being so close to her.
