Sailing wasn’t something the land hunter was used to but the salty sea air and shining sun was new and exciting for her. Plus she was on the hunt for new animals, some that practically nobody had ever heard of before. At least not where she came from but that was a small town. Looking at the ocean she wondered what color it was, it really sucked being color blind sometimes. She looked up at the sky from her place sitting along the edge of boat. She sighed before looking for her only other companion on this boat, she thought his name was Austin Larel but she wasn’t great with names. She wasn’t even sure what he was like, only snippets of what other people said of him. Sage wished she could have picked her own partner to do this with.
She spotted him at first and asked, “You do know where we’re heading right?” She asked looking around, half of this was suspicion and the other half was real concern. Sage wasn’t used to the sea yet or the way it moved and really she didn’t know where exactly they were hunting. But one thing she was sure of was the dangerous waters they were in. She hadn’t seen any birds except high up in the sky where nothing could touch them. If the bird weren’t diving for food than something must be up she just wasn’t sure what is was at the moment.
She stood up, slipping forward slightly,Still don’t have my sea legs yet. She thought steadying herself. She walked over to wear he was standing and sighed. “How do you manage the boat so well? Did Shamon give you the details for the animals? He only spoke briefly about it with me.” She asked him crossing her arms against the cool breeze. Shamon was their employer, the dude gave her the creeps a bit but the job as an adventure as well as paid nicely. He did explain about the animals but she couldn’t remember everything, she asked hoping that her would remember more than her and fill in the few parts she couldn’t remember.

Apparently according to the Letter and all the other details that had been given to him they were not that far out from the first animal they needed to collect. Austin had been told to do it in any order he wanted, which is why he was heading for the extremely dangerous and most rarest one, the most heard about yet never seen until now. Austin smiled to himself as long as this went well they should get some money, he expected there to be some trouble like other hunting the animals they were and there was also the whole thing about capturing them in the first place.
It was a two person job in the Man's Shamon's Job just as Austin was thinking though he was not sure why this girl Sage had to come along and maybe a more experienced hunter. She would have to do though. Any type of Hunter or tracker was good as no one at all. He looked over at her for a moment through the only eye that he could look at through, his right eye seemed to be getting worse everyday, which was the main reason he was wearing an eye patch.
He was about to go over the list when he heard Sage speak, he put it back into his pocket and smiled a little. "Well the first place is not going to be the bets place but I thought we could at least have some fun first right," he mentioned with a quick wink. Though he did have a small nervous look about him. "Yeah he gave me the detail's Quite a lot of them are one of the islands but the rest at sea, such as the Nimori Squid." He let that sink in for a moment, if you consider how big that thing was said to be it would be almost like going to face the god of death himself. "Oh and for your boat question I taught myself how to sail against even The Harshest of weather, so I'm skilled enough though if we get too much trouble I don't thinks he will stay afloat long." With that he looked out in front of them it seemed if clouds were gathering and they in no way looked friendly. He sighed "I would rather have a bigger ship, maybe if he run into other mercs and hunters on the way we can try take their ships."

Looking up at him she raised an eyebrow. “You look very pirate-y if that’s what you were going for.” She joked with a small laugh. She wondered about this guy, Sage had hears some rumors about them but she wasn’t one for rumors. After all living in a small village she had hears so many that it would make anyone else’s head explode and then some. But he could handle a boat and Shamon had put them together for some odd reason, so there has to be something about the dude that was alright. Her joke was really a test(and the truth) to see what kind of person she would be dealing with and how much she should try to hold her tongue.
She kept the brow raised but then smiling warmly. “That’s the reason I took this job some fun.” She laughed but noticing the look about him it came out a little nervous. Which one were they going to? She had to wonder there were a lot but it would certainly prove for an adventure. That would be cool she had never been to an island before or really out to sea much. But the Nimori Squid? Did he really think they could get it with this tiny boat. “Awesome some deep water swimming for me.” She said shaking her head. In order to catch that thing, there were going to have to be some major nets involved. As well as some possible weapons… Just to get it down though.
“So are we getting that Squid first or what?” She asked looking out on the water. “At least I won’t have to worry about color for that one…” She said eyes scanning the waves like she would be able to see it. But she doubted that would happen. “That’s really cool, I don’t think I would ever be able to man a boat. It seems way to… I’m not sure of the word but I couldn’t do it.” Sage said nodding. Looking at the boat it was rather small and really weak looking. Then if one were to look out the dark clouds ahead it would basically spell out trouble. But they would try for all it’s worth. “Oh yeah that’ll go over well.” Rolling her eyes Sage turned back to him. “But a bigger ship would be nice.

"Pirate-y?" Austin asked in a somewhat amused but cold tone, not many people had ever thought to call him that and the last one he had killed, then again the guy was trying to make him look a fool in front of his companions. It was unknown to most people that he was half blind, most just thought he had it because of how it made him look which in respects was some of the truth. It made him feel more like the Mercenary that he was, it was thanks to how he was almost blind in his right eye that he was wearing the eye patch, he was never sure why it happened it just did. The eye patch though seemed to always be the source of some amusement.
Austin frowned also why would she want to say something like that he seemed rather silly, did his attire really reminded her of pirate? why did he care what she thought anyway? sighing inwardly he decided he may as well give her an answer to what she said. " You might say that, but you try being near blind in one eye," He spoke at speed not caring if she heard all he said, he spoke fast most of the time anyway, his tone would feel cold and would send a shiver done most peoples backs. He began again his tone much warmer. "Looking like this is better than wearing steel, it weighs you down and tires you out, you need to be free to move in a fight, and you might be glad I'm wearing what I'm wearing if we meet any pirates, they may just leave us alone or we may run into friends." He had a few pirate friends when he was hired for a small hunt of theirs. he gave her a small smirk and turned to look out at sea. Just above their was a flock of small birds flying as fast as they could away, they looked terrified.
Slipping out his bow and placing and placing an arrow upon the string he aimed upwards, he focused took a quick short breath and waited. For those moments even the waves grew silent. When the birds came over the boat he fired. It hit. The bird he had spotted fell onto the deck. "Hmm, iv'e never seen a bird with that much fear in its eye'" he mentioned when he got close enough to see, he wondered if this was some sort of omen he hoped not.
He saw Sage shake her head after he answered on the boat question this caused him to raise his eyes, he agreed with her to be honest, but should she let her in on his idea, they were close now he could tell the sky was darkening he felt cold and vervous he shook his head I will not die at sea he thought trying to reassure himself. "Don't worry on the bigger ship front like I said there are bound to be bigger ships there and why would they bother with one small pathetic ship that could be ripped to shreds in a matter of moments, they would take one look at us and think us seafood, they will ignore us after that you see our course wont be for the monster but for......" he gave her his biggest grin letting he finish what he had in mind it was not genius but it was clever enough. They would be busy with the monster too busy for them. He would of said something else but the ship suddenly rocked violently, the sea and become just a bit more violent. He almost threw up.
