Empathy, developed keenly and quickly from a young age, this ability in particular allows her to focus on opponents in combat and feel their motions before they act upon them, it has made her a difficult opponent for even the most talented swords-masters. While some mistake it for mind-reading and try to put her off by thinking different movements, this has proven a failure, attempts at deception are even easier to read.
Speedster, paired with her keen sense of others, Aaliyah's speed allows her to act dangerously fast, few can match the quickness she presents as she intercepts and beats her opponents to the punch with what seems like lightning fast reactions.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES Several dozen scars in the forms of cuts and nicks on her body, earned from combat with her master as well as other events.
STYLE
Aaliyah can most typically be seen wearing long black dresses, as is her favoured style, not one to reveal much of herself, they are often collared with loose sleeves.
Any other time she is usually in light plate armour, black steel carefully crafted to fit her form with tightly woven ringmail beneath, on the lower half of her body she also wears an armoured tasset with belts that hold together a black skirt and full length greaves and thigh-guards beneath.
Whether wearing armour or not, she will always have a sword sheathed at her right hip, suggesting that she is primarily left-handed.

OVERALL PERSONALITY
The current Queen of Ironia is not considered to be much of a flower child, in spite of the nature of the Kingdom she protects. Where her people remain active and free, she remains vigilant and stern. While not unfair in her rulings, Aaliyah favours military action over diplomacy and will take any measures to protect her kingdom even if it means breaking all pacts of peace and banishing foreign powers, though has yet to see reason to do so.
Aaliyah is difficult to understand sometimes, even more so to get along with, not hateful, but private and independent, prideful in some cases because of her skill with a blade.
The Queen secretly harbours passions and desires of unconventional natures, most particularly she desires the sheer joy of battle and the chaos that it presents, or the touch of a fellow woman and her warmth in bed.
The almost overwhelming urge for chaos is only kept in check by her desire for absolute justice in her kingdom, after all Justice in her mind is another form of chaos, not bending to the rules and laws of humanity but ruled by a true sense of self and a belief in that which is right and wrong..

OVERALL HISTORY
Aaliyah was different to other children from an early age, few thought much of it, a child would be a child, while many liked to play, she liked to read, to think, particularly set in her mind were the tales of knights and glorious battle. However when she began to watch knights training in combat, she would see them move, but she would not, she could predict their every step and swing, every block and counter, every parry.
What other noble children spent time with Aaliyah also found her strength, she could predict what they would want, what they would say and do, playing with wooden swords proved that she had a talent beyond other children, her predictive powers were that of Empathy.
At the age of 10, her parents chose to hire Kyle Brannigan, a skilled master of the sword to teach her the way of the blade, a man who in the past had bested one of their greatest knights in combat.
At first he did not agree, but he was faced with the child, brandishing a short-sword, in spite of its weight in her arms. She attacked, as only a child could, but what caught Kyle off guard was her ability to predict his blocks, forcing herself past them as much as she could, she continued to swing until her arms couldn't hold the sword up any more. Admittedly Kyle suffered no damage and she certainly didn't have the strength of arm to cut him if she'd even landed a blow, but her tenacious attitude and astounding natural abilities convinced him to accept the offer.
The following years saw him teach her principles of swordplay, training her to improve her body, to wield swords and even some other weapons as though they were a part of her own body. This kept her occupied as her parents began to plot secretly.
At the age of sixteen, Aaliyah walked into a secret meeting her parents had been holding, one of many that she had noticed in spite of their best efforts.
To her horror, through their lies and malcontent, she felt their plans, their ideals. An ideal where they struck out against the other kingdoms, violently and swiftly, with assassins, brigands, hired muscle and mercenaries, seeding chaos throughout the other kingdoms and riding in to take over.
She locked the room and slaughtered her parents as well as those with them, most of them were council members. Her teacher had been passing as he heard the commotion, the screams for mercy and burst in as she slew her father, impaling him against the map table upon which their plans were spread.
Kyle and Aaliyah had long since grown an understanding of one another, ideals of justice were bloody and a difficult road to take, the man had been like a brother to her if not a second father figure, far better than her own.
Once she had finally calmed enough to explain her actions he thought about it for the longest time before he took her sword from the king's body, handing her his own and attacked.
Aaliyah knew his intentions, they were never to harm her, but to simply prolong the supposed conflict of the room, the continued sound of battle attracting a passing patrol of guards who managed to burst in just as Kyle fell under Aaliyah's sword.
He cried out the words Death to Ironia before Aaliyah ran him through.
A clever play indeed..
She has since then ruled Ironia peacefully, in the shadows hunting those that were aligned with her parents schemes but in the light trying to be as honest and fair a ruler as she can.
